For my final project, I decided to make a line-follower robot. This simple robot is designed to be able to follow a black line on the ground without getting off the line too much. The robot has two sensors installed underneath the front part of the body, and two DC motors drive wheels moving forward. A circuit inside takes an input signal from two sensors and controls the speed of wheels’ rotation. The control is done in such a way that when a sensor senses a black line, the motor slows down or even stops. Then the difference of rotation speed makes it possible to make turns. For instance, in the figure on the right, if the sensor somehow senses a black line, the wheel on that side slows down and the robot will make aright turn.

1. Line follower is an autonomous robot which follows either black line in white area or white line in black area. Robot must be able to detect particular line and keep following it. Robot must be able to detect particular line and keep following it.
2. Put 4 AA batteries into the battery holder, make a path, and turn on the robot. If the robot does not work check soldering carefully. Now you must adjust potentiometers to robot be able to detect black and white areas. Turn all potentiometers to leftmost position then turn back about 90 degrees to the right.
3. To be more useful, the robot should be able to start and stop the line tracking behavior on cue. For example, the robot should be able to stop following a line when it reaches a wall.
